Holistic Flamenco Healing

This class is an introduction to everything Flamenco: the origins, the rhythms, clapping (palmas), footwork, and upper body movement. Music and palmas. This also class invites you to explore the self-healing potential of Flamenco through movement, rhythmic clapping, and music. 🎶

No dance experience is necessary, and all ages are welcome. To keep the experience accessible, Flamenco shoes are not required, tennis shoes are fine. Come as you are

Beginning technique & choreography Alegrias de Camaron

Alegrias is a popular traditional Flamenco form that embodies happiness. In this class, we combine the music and legacy of Flamenco's greatest artist, Camarón de la Isla, with this joyful expression of Flamenco. In addition to learning the 12-count rhythm and the structure of an alegrias, we also will learn the poetic and profound lyrics of Camarón de la Isla for alegrias.

Seguiriyas

is a profound, somber form of cante jondo (deep song) in flamenco, originating from 18th-century Andalusian Romani culture. Known for extreme emotional intensity, it features slow, melancholy tempos, a complex 12-beat compás, and themes of death, sorrow, and tragic love.
